Overview
The Partner 4.4 Map Viewer represents the latest iteration of the Partner Platform end-user interface. In addition to map viewing, the 4.4 Map Viewer also provides a highly expandable platform for other end user tools. This demo includes the Partner 4.4 Field Designer and the multi-bar Tracing mapset.
Installing the Demo

Installing Java
The installation page is divided into three sections. The Partner Map Viewer is written in Java, and requires Java to run. If your PC does not currently have Java installed, you will need to do so from the link at the top of the page.
Choosing an Installation Directory
The other two sections are used to choose where the program is installed. If you do not have a preference, you may use the "Standard Installation", which will install the demo to C:/Program Files/Partner. If you would prefer to install the demo in a different directory, particularly if you already have a different version of Partner installed, you may select a different directory under "Custom Installation". Be sure to select the Install button that corresponds with the type of installation you are performing.
Getting Started
Upon successful installation, you should now have two new desktop shortcuts: "Partner" and "Edit Viewer Settings". Before you launch the viewer, you will want to enable any Mapsets (Map Viewer tools) that you wish to use. To do this, double-click on the "Edit Viewer Settings" icon. A small window titled "Configure Partner Settings" will open, with four tabs along the top. Under "Enabled mapsets", make sure all six boxes are checked (unless you specifically wish to exclude one or more mpasets), then click "Apply and Restart". This will save your settings, and launch the Partner Map Viewer. From here onward, you should be able to launch the viewer from the "Partner" shortcut on your desktop, as the settings are maintained between sessions.
Troubleshooting
If you run into problems, here a few common issues and potential missteps.
The program didn't install
This is usually the result of not having Java installed. We use Java Webstart to install the software, so confirm that you have installed Java on your PC if the installer fails to launch.
The map/program renders strangely/flickers
This is frequently the result of graphics drivers which are out of date. If you feel comfortable updating your PC's graphics driver, then that should resolve your issue. Otherwise, you may change the rendering engine used by the Partner Map Viewer in the "Edit Viewer Settings" menu under the "Video settings" tab. Change the "Render engine" from "OpenGL" to "Java2D", then save your changes and restart the viewer.
None of the mapset tools show up
Verify that the mapset is enabled in "Edit Viewer Settings".
